The Heavy

The Heavy — the bundled class portrait

The steading's fiercest warrior — the one who does the violence others cannot. The Heavy spends more time on the Stats and Inventory tabs than any other class, and the two are more connected than they look.

Armour and damage are calculated

Neither is typed in by hand.

Armor, on the Stats tab, is worked out from the gear you're actually wearing — your best armour, plus anything that stacks. Change what's in your inventory and the number changes. If it looks wrong, the fix is on the Inventory tab, not the Stats tab.

Damage comes from your playbook. It's shown, not edited.

Storm-Marked

If you took the Storm-Marked background, you start with the storm markings as an arcanum, already part-way unlocked — one of its requirements is marked from the start.

That means the Heavy is the one martial class that uses the Arcana tab. Your markings sit there as an unrevealed card: read its outward description, tick off the unlock requirements as the fiction meets them, and when they're all met your GM reveals it. Revealing grants whatever it carries straight onto your sheet.

Only the GM can grant or reveal an arcanum. Ticking requirements is yours.

Special possessions

You pick two:

  • Weapons of war — the pieces land as individual inventory items, each with its own Load and tags, so a full kit genuinely weighs something
  • Chirurgeon's tools — useful far more often than it sounds
  • Smithy, Stoneworker's tools, Husbandry tools, Distillery — holdings back at the steading

Harm

Harm & conditions, at the bottom of the Stats tab, is free text — add whatever the fiction just did to you, in your own words. It isn't a fixed list, because Stonetop's injuries aren't either.

Debilities are separate: mark one on the stat pair it belongs to and that stat rolls with disadvantage from then on.

At 0 HP a Death's Door panel appears on the Stats tab with your options, including the after-death playbooks.

If your Armor number surprises you, look at what you're wearing. The sheet is reading your gear, and it's usually right.
